FAQs
Is therapy right for me?
Have you tried multiple different suggestions from family and friends only to find yourself back where you started? Do you feel stuck like you are reliving the same thing over and over? Do you have clear goals and a path to achieve them?
If you answered yes to more than one of these questions then therapy might be right for you.
Do you offer online therapy (TeleHealth)?
Yes. we provide online therapy through an online, secure video conferencing platform in which we bring our “virtual office” to you. Online therapy can be beneficial for those who cannot find a therapist in their area with our specialties or for current clients who are traveling and cannot come into the office for a few sessions. Additionally, clients who are home bound for a period due to health issues, may choose to have sessions online.
Do you take insurance?
We are considered an Out of Network provider. If you have a PPO insurance plan, you may receive reimbursement for our services depending on your out-of-network provider benefits. Each month, we can provide you with a bill which you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. It is very helpful to check with your insurance company ahead of time to find out what your coverage is for therapy services with an out-of-network provider. The following questions can help facilitate the conversation:
Do I have mental/behavioral health insurance benefits?
What are my out-of-network provider benefits for mental/behavioral health services?
What is my deductible and has it been met?
How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
Is approval or pre-authorization required?
Why shouldn’t I use my Insurance?
There is a cost to everything. Although using private insurance appears to cover the cost of therapy monetarily which it does it also opens up the client to non monetary costs. Utilizing your insurance requires a documented mental health diagnosis which will follow you permanently. Private insurance is exempt from confidentiality and may access any or all of the information in your records which may interfere with unforeseen opportunities in the future.
By being private pay and opting not to use insurance for the care you receive, you eliminate the requirement to share your personal health information with a third party and affords you certain benefits, including:
No limit on the number of visits
No required mental health diagnosis
Freedom to set your own priorities and course of treatment
Increased confidentiality of health and medical records
Ability to select the professional best suited to your needs versus selecting someone from a long list of in network providers
Ultimately the decision is up to you but it is for this reason I prefer to stick to a cash pay structure.
Why shouldn’t I just take medication?
Medication can be effective but it alone cannot solve all issues. Sometimes medication is needed in conjunction with counseling. Our work together is designed to explore and unpack the problems you are experiencing and expand on your strengths that can help you accomplish your personal goals.
